Conservation

First Issued: 1963?
Fee: half of regular commercial fee
Single plate

Plate number always has an "S"

The owner of a truck-tractor, semitrailer, or lowboy trailer used on a highway exclusively to transport the owner's soil conservation machinery or equipment used in clearing real property, terracing, or building farm ponds, levees, or ditches may register the vehicle for a fee equal to 50 percent of the fee otherwise prescribed by this chapter for the vehicle. ÊÊ An owner may register only one truck-tractor and only one semitrailer or lowboy trailer under this section.

Cotton Vehicle

First Issued: 1991

Single plate

Plate "C" prefix and "V" suffix.

Used on vehicles that are used only to transport seed cotton modules, cotton, cotton burrs, or equipment used in transporting or processing cotton; and are not more than 10 feet in width.

Disaster

First Issued: 1962
Fee: $5.30
Single plate

Plate has "12D" prefix.

For use on trucks & trailers used exclusively for disaster relief purposes (Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc.).

Forestry Vehicle

First Issued: 1993
Fee: $8
Single plate

"Forestry vehicle" means a vehicle used exclusively for transporting forest products in their natural state, including logs, debarked logs, untreated ties, stave bolts, plywood bolts, pulpwood billets, wood chips, stumps, sawdust, moss, bark, wood shavings, and property used in production of those products.

Log Loader

First Issued: 1991
Fee: $62.50
Single plate

Plate has "L" prefix

Used for vehicles that load logs, but do not haul logs.

Single plate

Plate has "M", mid-number.

Issued to machinery used for well drilling or construction.

Parade

First Issued: 1962
Fee: None
Single plate

Plate has "PAR" prefix or suffix.

One plateÊissued to a motorized vehicle owned and operated by a nonprofit service organization and designed, constructed, and used primarily for parade purposes. Trailers and semi-trailers do not qualify.

This is a 5 year plate. Current plates expire in 2008.

Plate has "P" mid-number.

Used for mobile cranes & vehicles constructed for oil well servicing, cleaning, & drilling.
