Issued to passenger cars, private buses, trailers & semitrailers (gwt. <10,000 lbs.), & light commercial vehicles. Allows for unrestricted movement of vehicle, including other states.

72-hour Permit

Fee: $25.
Single cardboard tag.

Issued by dealers to vehicles which are being loaned to charitable organizations. Valid for up to 30 days. The dealer identification number is on the tag. The date of expiration is written in to make the "serial".

1945-85: "DEALER" legend
1986-1996: "MOTOR VEHICLE DEALER" sticker
1997?-pres.: "DEALER" legend

For use on vehicles for which the dealer is licensed to sell. Not for use on personal, work, or load-bearing vehicles. Serial is called the dealer's "general distinguishing number".
